Inspired by the natural world, Jen Violette art simplifies organic forms with vibrant colors and playful compositions. This approach invites viewers into a world where imagination and reality coexist, offering a serene escape into the beauty of the ordinary transformed into the extraordinary.

Jen Violette's artistic journey began at Alfred University in 1991 at age 18.  Since then, she has honed her craft for over three decades, exploring the fluidity and dynamics of molten glass. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in glass and metal sculpture at Alfred University School of Art and Design in 1994, then further developed her skills at prestigious institutions, including the Pilchuck Glass School, The Corning Museum of Glass, Rhode Island School of Design, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and Penland School of Crafts.

Throughout her career, Violette has had the privilege to learn from and collaborate with renowned glass maestros such as Lino Tagliapietra, William Morris, and Dante Marioni, among others. These experiences have significantly influenced her work and contributed to her growth as an artist.

In 2017 and 2018, she was a featured guest artist at the Corning Museum of Glass Amphitheater Hot Shop, and the following year she taught a Creative Glass Sculpting Techniques class at the same institution. Her reputation as a skilled glass artist earned her a guest artist spot at Public Glass in San Francisco in May 2019, and she was prominently featured on the Corning Museum Mobile Glass Stage at SOFA Chicago in November 2019.

Currently, Jen Violette lives in Wilmington, Vermont, where she works full-time as a glass and mixed media artist.  In 2024, she opened an gallery, Jen Violette Gallery, in Wilmington, Vermont.  Her studio resides in a beautifully renovated 1890's post and beam barn, which provides an inspiring backdrop for her creative endeavors. She shares this setting with her husband, artist John Gerding, and their two teenage sons, finding daily inspiration in the blend of family life, art, and the serene Vermont landscape.
