An exploration of memory and nature through contemporary landscape drawing.
In a recent art exhibition, I showcased a series of contemporary landscape drawings that reflect on how we remember and relate to the natural world. Created with graphite and charcoal, these works explore quiet and textural impressions of hillsides, tree lines, open fields, and horizons.

Instead of replicating exact scenery, my drawings focus abstract notions of atmosphere, light, and shadow, elements that convey the feeling of being immersed in nature whilst also being an outsider looking in. Each piece serves as a meditation on place and presence, inviting viewers to slow down and connect with the subtle rhythms of the land to imagine what lies within the depths of these scapes.
Exhibited alongside diverse media, these monochromatic drawings added a calm, grounded energy to the show, offering a different way to engage with the theme of nature’s transformation.
Whether you're a fan of graphite art, a collector of charcoal drawing, or simply drawn to nature-inspired artwork, I hope these landscapes offered a moment of stillness and connection.
